Smile Showcase
The Smile Showcase has been developed to provide a means by which the attendees of the Annual Scientific Session have the opportunity to display their outstanding dentistry, creativity and artistic abilities.
The submission categories are as follows:
This division will highlight the clinical accomplishments of cosmetic dentistry.
This division will showcase the transformation that cosmetic dentistry can produce by submitting portrait-style photographs.
This is a newly added division. Entrants to this division will have free reign to create a poster that celebrates the smile.
Entrants are encouraged to use creativity when designing entries for display in the Smile Showcase. Participants are limited to five entries per category.
1. Actual views and the number of photographs are at the discretion of the entrant. All photographs must fit onto one (1) 18”(w) x 24”(h) professional quality mat board.
2. Entry should display a brief description of the treatment or procedure being showcased.
1. Only photographs taken by the dentist, ceramist or staff member will be allowed.
2. Entry should include a before 4”x6” full-face photograph.
3. No post-production manipulation (air-brushing, digital enhancements, etc) will be allowed.
4. Entry should display a brief description of the treatment performed and the media type used (equipment, film type, digital setting, etc).
5. Entry must fit onto one (1) 18”(w) x 24”(h) professional quality mat board.
1. Entry should include a brief description of the process utilized to create the poster.
2. Post-production manipulation is allowed.
3. The patient and poster must be work done by the dentist or lab technician and not outsourced.
4. Entry must fit onto one (1) 18”(w) x 24”(h) professional quality mat board.
Entries must be received at the AACD Executive Office no later than Friday, April 25, 2008. Entries received after that date, or at the conference, will not be allowed. The Smile Showcase Committee reserves the right to remove entries deemed inappropriate.
The entry fee is $25 per submission. One check may be written for the sum of all entries.

Claiming Entries at the Conference
Entries may be removed and taken after 5:00 pm on Friday, May 9, 2008. Unclaimed entries will not be returned. The AACD retains the right to all unclaimed photography and may elect to use this material in future Academy publications.
